Frequently asked questions
What do I need to use Kju Relay Stage Timer?
An iPad to act as the controller and one or more iPhones as stage displays. All devices should be running a recent version of iOS/iPadOS, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Kju Relay Stage Timer works fully offline. Devices connect directly to each other - there is no router, server, or internet required.
The devices can't find each other. What should I check?
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on for every device.
- The devices are near one another.
- You allowed the Local Network permission when the app first asked. You can re-enable it in Settings > Kju Relay Stage Timer.
- The iPhone entered the exact 4-digit code shown on the iPad controller.
What is the pairing code?
To keep other devices from joining your show by accident, the controller shows a random 4-digit code. Each stage display must enter that code to connect. The code changes each time you start a new controller session.
Why does a display show its battery to the controller?
So the operator can see at a glance whether a stage display needs charging. A display's battery percentage appears in the controller's connected-devices list and turns red when it drops to 20% or below.
Can I save several events in advance?
Yes. On the controller you can build and save multiple events (running orders) ahead of time, then open the one you need when the show starts. You can also share an event to connected displays so they keep a copy. Everything is stored on your device.
Will the screen dim or lock during a show?
No. Kju Relay Stage Timer keeps the screen awake while in use. You can toggle this with the sun/moon icon on each display.
How is my data handled?
Kju Relay Stage Timer collects no personal data and sends nothing off your devices. See our Privacy Policy for details.
